It was an article from the Journal about the Republican Candidate for the open Senate seat, with Tupelo’s favorite son, Roger Wicker, as the subject. I think they were discussing the new Medicare Bill or some such, but Wicker is quoted as saying "the Democrats are trying to make us look bad…". I truly laughed out loud, and for quite some time too; as a matter of fact, I still grin real big when I even think about it.
The Republicans have pert near had a strangle hold on the entire Federal Government for the past 10 years running, at least, and we see the sad, sad, state we now find ourselves enduring daily. Yet it’s the democrats trying to make them look bad. Too funny.
The article also provided another belly laugh when Wicker reached way down into his bag of goodies and came out with the all-new, all-profound, statement, …. are you ready for this? …. "it’s Bill Clinton’s fault". It just don’t get no funnier than this folks. I know a fella down the road and he just knows that everything negative that has happened since 1975 is Bill Clinton’s fault!
Oh well I guess you’ve got to "run" on something, and if you’re a Republican, it sure as hell can’t be your record.
