Like the ebbs and tides of the big waters, philosophical ideals come and go. Its as natural as the rain and just as necessary. And much like the big waters, ideals depend on the currents created by these natural oscillations to keep from becoming stagnant. So the pendulum swings, as it has always done so.
Our friends on the right should remember one of the basic laws of physics: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. So as much as the pendulum has been pulled far to the right over the past few years, it will swing back through the perpendicular and on, until it finds its equilibrium.
