To prevent young children from possibly being exposed to lead, cadmium or any other hazardous heavy metal, take the jewelry away.”

Beware Chinese made drywall

If you are planning on using any drywall products, you better give this article a read. Apparently, the stuff omits so much sulfur fumes it will literally eat your electric wires and copper pipes. The shocker to me is the fact this stuff is imported at all. As competative as this market is, it would seem that shipping costs alone would prohibit this from being imported. Oh well, just another great benefit of cheap oil, I suppose.

“U.S. military personnel at Guantanamo Bay allegedly softened up detainees at the request of Chinese intelligence officials who had come to the island facility to interrogate the men — or they allowed the Chinese to dole out the treatment themselves, according to claims in a new government report.
According to the report by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn Fine, an FBI agent reported a detainee belonging to China’s ethnic Uighur minority and a Uighur translator told him Uighur detainees were kept awake for long periods, deprived of food and forced to endure cold for hours on end, just prior to questioning by Chinese interrogators.”

Well, well, we have finally found something that the Chinese won’t or can’t do. Maybe now we can start cutting away at that big trade deficit. And we should take a page from their playbook and create a Free Trade Zone where all activities such as this are free from any U.S. taxes. That would sure get the ball rolling. Great opportunity for a start-up here folks, and I’m sure there are many bankers that would piss themselves for the chance to provide financing.
