The price of the big bail out is going up faster than you can say “pow zoom, straight to the moon”. Just last week they were talking about 100 billion, a few days ago they were saying 400 billion, late yesterday, and in all the morning papers, 500 billion dollars. Now it’s 700 billions dollars! [...] From this August photo we see that Senator Ted Stevens has taken to wearing some type of quasi-military looking uniform and I am quite sure that is a GIANT American flag behind him. My first thought was, “Does this guy really think this will help him?”, but then I realized the collective mental abilities [...] I don’t know about anyone else but, for me, this whole summer has felt like I’ve been inside one of those Russian novels where the characters are discussing politics and religion in such a way that even with the smattering of existentialist philosophy I’ve managed to co-opt as a means of coping with the sheer [...] For the past 50 years or so it has been economically advantageous for manufacturers to partake in some fairly wasteful ways to make their products available to the American market.
